Some pharmacologic and toxicologic properties of metaglycodol

Popis:	Metaglycodol was more effective than phenaglycodol in prolonging hexobarbital sleep in mice and in preventing deaths due to amphetamine in grouped mice. Neither compound greatly altered choice-discrimination behavior in rats. There was no significant difference in the acute lethality of either compound for mice. In chronic toxicity studies in rats and dogs, metaglycodol caused slight histologic alterations in the livers at the higher dosages.
