Popis: This chapter explains why classical evaluation methods such as randomized controlled trials should not be the only approach for evaluating eHealth. It focuses on how evaluation can contribute to opening the black box of eHealth technology. In the chapter, several methods for the evaluation of effectiveness, efficiency, adherence and engagement will be introduced: RCTs, SMART adaptive randomization, fractional factorial designs, N of 1, Ecological Momentary Assessment, log data analysis and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). You will learn why it is important to conduct a proper holistic evaluation of eHealth technologies.
