Popis: | We describe a new method for the production of hybrid metal species based on laser vaporization electrospray ionization (LAVESI) mass spectrometry. It consists of an ambient pressure laser vaporization of a metal rod located in the spray of an ESI source. Metal species generated by vaporization of the rod react with molecular ligands present in the spray to form ligated metal species, which are analyzed using a linear quadrupole ion trap. First results obtained by vaporizing silver, gold and copper rods and electrospraying a thioglycolic acid solution are reported. This leads to the formation of ligated metal species, which are transferred to the linear ion trap and mass analyzed. Their composition and size are discussed and compared to the ones obtained from electrospraying a metal salt solution. |
