| Popis: | Both cortical (thymus-independent) and paracortical (thymus-dependent) regions of bronchial lymph nodes from pigs previously exposed via the respiratory route to M. suipneumoniae showed hyperplasia a few weeks after exposure. Such responses were not observed in nodes from control pigs inoculated with broth. A depletion of lymphoid cells in the paracortical region was observed in nodes from 2 pigs with very extensive pneumonia; cortical tissue in the same nodes seemed unaffected by the depletion process. |
