The construction of club buildings in Russia is going through a period of stagnation. After the disintegration of the USSR, club buildings lost their relevance due to the inadequacy of modern requirements for the organization of leisure time for children and youth. Responding to the demands of our time, new types of clubs are emerging, the format of which is diverse and different from the Soviet clubs. The article deals with the current types of club buildings in Russia - youth centers, scientific and creative residences, art residences, and creative dachas. The rationale for the new types of club activities is personal development through research and design; youth involvement in transformation of urban space; initiation to art; and importance of communication and social connections. The architectural and planning features of modern-day club buildings are identified, such as combination of natural environment and high technology, multifunctional and transforming interior and exterior space, and emphasis on the regional aspect in the architecture. |
