Popis: | colleagues, administrators and politicians who had an influence on university matters. Thus the statements were rather more political than formulated as guidelines for research and teaching within the discipline as such. The situation became different a couple of decades later on when the introductory period had passed. The second generation of geographers were to take over and had to try to find the proper niche among neighbouring disciplines and to give guidance to advanced students. Then, for a second time, we find scattered proclamations about the nature of geography by newly appointed professors or by senior students who aspired at leading positions. Since these people became the teachers of those who have been in charge from the 50's to the 70's their approach gives some interesting clues to the lines followed during the most active growth period of Swedish geography.
