| Popis: | Although it appears that adenosine would be theoretically useful in the emergent therapy of theophylline toxicity, published clinical data supporting the efficacy and safety of using adenosine for such a situation are currently lacking. The use of adenosine also is not without some risk. In addition, the use of adenosine infusions can be relatively expensive. Until more clinical evidence can be obtained, the routine use of adenosine in the treatment of acute theophylline ingestion cannot be recommended. |
