Popis: | New Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) complexes of a guanylurea ligand were synthesized and their structures were characterized by spectroscopic and analytical methods. The ligand was prepared by the hydrolysis of dicyandiamine in the presence of glacial acetic acid and obtained as acetate salt (HL·OAc). Molecular structure of the ligand and its Cu(II) complex were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. In the structure of the Cu(II) complex, each Cu(II) ion is four-coordinate with an approximate square planar geometry. The structures of the ligand and its Cu(II) complex were stabilized by hydrogen bond interactions. Antibacterial activity of the complexes was evaluated by single disk method. The complexes exhibit antibacterial activity. The synthesized compounds were screened for their FSds-DNA properties and Zn(II) complex showed higher binding affinity than free ligand and its Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes. |
