Popis: | In global geodesy co-location of geodetic space techniques are required for mutual control of the measurements. The ground-based active transmitters of the DORIS system are in conflict to VLBI-observations. The VLBI systems are designed to receive extremely faint cosmic signals down to -110 dBm , whereas the DORIS beacon emits signals at a frequency of 2,036 MHz with 40 dBm output power . There is a potential for coupling between DORIS emissions and the VLBI receiving chain generating spurious signals. The selection of possible sites for DORIS next to a VLBI radio telescope have been studied with pycraf. The study results coincide well with real measurements at the site of Wettzell. DORIS can´t be installed in the line of sight with a radio telescope.
