Popis: | The disappearance time for glucose, infused after exercise of various intensities, decreased with increasing work load as related to the subject's maximal oxygen uptake. Plasma immunoreactive insulin levels followed glucose levels closely. It appears that the mechanisms which are responsible for the increased rate of glucose transport into the cells are activated in proportion to the intensity of the exercise rather than to the total energy utilization. |
