Popis: FOR GENERATIONS CHINA EXPORTED MEN. From SOUtll and east China, particularly the poor and mountanous regions of Fukien and Kwangtung Provinces, Chinese went all over the world, but mostly to Southeast Asia. In 1936 these expatriates and their children numbered about 8,700,000, the main groups in Southeast Asia being two to three million in Siam, 1,700,000 in Malaya, 1,200,000 in the Netherlands East Indies, 400,000 in French Indochina, 190,000 in Burma, 120,000 in the Philippines, and 90,000 in British Borneo.1
