Popis: | Cardiac catheterization findings in a 39 year old woman indicated a moderate degree of aortic stenosis, without pulmonary hypertension. Over the ensuing 18 months, the findings of right ventricular failure became conspicuous, and the electrocardiogram revealed right ventricular hypertrophy. Repeat cardiac catheterization demonstrated severe pulmonary hypertension. The patient died shortly after this procedure, and at autopsy only calcific aortic stenosis was found, without evidence of pulmonary vascular disease. |
