Popis: | Reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome (RSDS) is characterized by pain, swelling, vasomotor disturbances, and trophic dermal changes, often precipitated by trauma, myocardial infarction, or neurologic disease. Radiographic findings are nonspecific. Three-phase bone scans generally disclose increased perfusion, as well as increased uptake in the periarticular areas of the affected extremity in early and delayed phases. A case is presented in which RSDS was first limited to one leg. After successful treatment, the patient presented with RSDS in the contralateral leg. Images then revealed complete resolution of the original findings, together with findings consistent with RSDS in the symptomatic leg. |
