Popis: | Scholars in the United States who study racial and ethnic politics have to a great extent constructed theoretical models grounded in analyses of the Black-White racial dynamic in its form. The limitations of models structured around racial dualism have created some problems for social scientists concerned with conditions facing Asian-origin communities. We hope to suggest alternative perspectives by examining Asian-origin populations in Latin America and the Caribbean. We seek insights which help us to better understand racial and ethnic politics across national boundaries. |
