Popis: | A 75-year-old woman with chronic hepatitis C and cirrhosis was examined for right upper quadrant abdominal pain. There was no history of gallstones or previous hepatobiliary surgery. Hepatobiliary imaging was performed to identify possible acute cholecystitis. The gallbladder is typically located on the inferior surface of the anterior segment of the right lobe of the liver, and right lateral images are helpful in differentiating the expected anteriorly located gallbladder from the posteriorly located duodenum. An unusual location of the gallbladder should be considered when images have an atypical appearance, because the gallbladder may lie in the left subhepatic space; in a transverse or floating position; or in an intrahepatic, suprahepatic, or retrodisplaced location. |
