Popis: | Fluvoxamine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor that has been considered relatively safe in overdose. At therapeutic and supratherapeutic concentrations, fluvoxamine affects cardiac conduction, prolongs QTc interval, causes hypotension, obtundation, and can increase propensity for seizures. A man in his 60s was found dead at his home with a postmortem fluvoxamine peripheral blood concentration of 4.9 mg/L, and a liver concentration of 440 mg/kg. His cause of death was determined to be acute fluvoxamine toxicity. |
