Popis: Laetmogone wyvillethomsoni Thel, 1879 Remarks. OLoughlin et al. (1994) recognized morphological variations from the type specimens of Laetmogone wyvillethomsoni Thel, 1879 (southern Indo-Pacific, abyssal) in specimens from Prydz Bay (bathyal). Molecular phylogenetic data (Gustav Paulay, pers. comm.) for specimens of the morpho-species L. wyvillethomsoni from the Ross Sea indicate possible allopatric cryptic Antarctic species (shallow and deep bathyal). Whether these forms are conspecific with Laetmogone wyvillethomsoni remains to be determined.
