Popis: | REVIEW QUESTION / OBJECTIVE The objective of this systematic review is to identify the best available evidence to determine the effectiveness of decision tools used to identify adult patients suitable for early discharge from emergency departments. More specifically, the review question is: What is the effectiveness of decision tools in terms of their ability to identify adult patients (> 18) for early discharge from the emergency departments the same day or within 48 hours? INCLUSION CRITERIA Types of participants This review will consider studies that include patients over 18 years admitted to the emergency departments. Types of intervention(s) This review will consider studies that evaluate decision tools used to predict early discharge from the emergency departments within same day or 48 hours. Examples of interventions are: The Simple Clinical Score Ambulatory care score Manchester triage system The HEART score North American Chest Pain Rule The Asia-Pacific Evaluation of Chest pail Trial Glasgow-Blatchford Bleeding Score Types of outcomes This review will consider studies that include the following outcome measures: Length of hospital stay Early discharge Same day discharge |
