Popis: | Although neonatal bloodstream infections may be caused by a variety of fungi, invasive fungaemia due to Candida pulcherrima in a premature neonate has not been previously reported. We describe such a case in which antifungal susceptibility test data led to successful therapy. A colonized catheter used for parenteral nutrition is presumed to have been the main source of this persistent infection. |
