Popis: | Entomophthoromycosis describes infection caused by fungi belonging to the order Entomophthorales and includes subcutaneous phycomycosis (Joe et al., 1956) and a condition previously described as rhinophycomycosis (Martinson, 1963) but now termed rhinophycomycosis entemophthorae (Martinson and Clark, 1967) or rhino-entomophthoromycosis (Clark, 1967) in order to distinguish it from rhinomucormycosis (rhinophycomycosis) (Dwyer and Changus, 1968). Rhinomucormycosis is described in the chapter on mucormycosis by Baker. |
