Popis: The aim of this paper is to present the current situation in the corporate bond market in Poland, as well as the identification of determinants and directions of its development in the light of both the current macroeconomic situation and the availability of other form of corporate financing. The potential for the development of the corporate bond market in Poland is very high. Corporate bonds are a very good alternative to bank credit. In some cases, issuance of corporate bonds can be used instead of the issue of shares. Despite its characteristics corporate bonds are still not very popular form of financing companies in Poland. Actually we can observe steady and systematically growth of the corporate bond market, supported by development of Catalyst platform and by situation on the bank credit market. According to many experts the corporate market growth is going to be continued in the future. The growth rate will be affected by such determinants as financial standing of issuers and ability to provide to investors adequate level of diversification and liquidity of the bond portfolio.
