Popis: | skin lengihening were done. Admeasurements were performed to 300 school children aged 6 to 1 5 years (150 girls), by two deferent methods: one commonly used in adults (Macrae-Wright modification of Schober test) and a further modification for chldren or the former (Burgos-Vargas I I test). Separa;e analyses of results obtained from lumbar and sacral segments by each method were anaiized as to sex, age, height and weight. Interobserver variation coefficient were better for the f i r s t of both methods particularly to measure lumbar lengthening ISchober test). Lumbar lengthening was significantly higher in girls (5.24 ± 0.83 cm ihcn in beys (4.73 ± 0.89 cm, p < 0.01). Conversely, sacral enlargement was significantly higher in boys (2.66 ± 0.67 vs 2.22 ± 0.6" cm). Only in emaie children skin lengthening was influenced by age, weight and height, Skin lengthening measurement at skin over the lumbar region seems to be an advisable method to evaluate morion ranges or :he lower spine in children. Normal ranges in this scrrple wee 4.36 to 6.1 2 cm for female and 3.84 to 5.62 cm. for male children. |
