Popis: | Megalotomus junceus (Scopoli, 1763) (Figs. 8–10, 26–28) Cimex junceus Scopoli, 1763: 135. Syntype (s): Slovenia, Ljubljana; lost (Dolling 2006). Alydus limbatus Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835: pl. 12 and legend (syn. Reuter, 1888: 164). Syntypes: Germany (Stuttgart) and Slovenia? (Istria); ZMHB (in part). Alydus pavidus Gorski, 1852: 131 (syn. Fieber, 1861: 226, with limbatus). Megalotomus junceus (Scopoli, 1763): Hsiao, 1977: 276–277; Nonnaizab et al., 1986: 305–313; Moulet, 1995: 272–273; Nonnaizab, 1999: 76–77; Dolling, 2006: 38; Huang et al, 2013: 135–136. Diagnosis. This species is recognized within the genus Megalotomus by a combination of the following characters: medium-sized, 13.0– 14.5 mm in length, body slender, mostly dark black, anterior margins of forewings yellowish, anterior half of connexivum of abdominal segments IV–VI with a bright yellowish patch on each side; antennal segment IV longer than segments II and III together; posterior angle of pronotum acute and pointed, with sharp apex; surcapsular spines of the genital capsule straight, each one with a broadly triangular process at the outer margin close to base and a series of small serrations on the inner margin of apex; parameres wide and slightly curving, each one with two pointed terminal apices. Asia: China (Beijing, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Jiangsu, Inner Mongolia, Shandong), Kazakhstan, Mongolia, North Korea, Russia (East Siberia, Far East, West Siberia), South Korea; Europe: Austria, Bosnia Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Russia (Central European Territory, South European Territory), Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Yugoslavia (Serbia, Montenegro). Remarks. This is the most widespread species among the genus, and has been recorded in many countries from the Palaearctic region (see above).
