Popis: | The response of McLean inpatients meeting interview criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) to drug therapy was studied by retrospective chart review. Diagnostic criteria for Major Depression and Schizophrenia were also applied to the charts. Patients meeting criteria for both BPD and Major Depressive Disorder showed improvement both on tricyclic antidepressants and on antipsychotics. Patients with Schizophrenic Disorder or with some schizophrenic symptoms responded to antipsychotics while patients not fitting in either group tended not to improve on either type of drug therapy. |
