Popis: The article presents results of theoretical studies carried out in order to determine parameters of the working process of the rotary ripper of a chisel cultivator, designed for processing in one pass into the soil. The rotary rippers radius should be as small as possible to reduce metal consumption and device size, and also reduce energy consumption. The main factors to consider when determining the radius of a rotary ripper are working depth (in accordance with agronomic requirements), the number of knives (mounted on one disc) and the dimensions of the mounting disc. The relationship between the number of blades placed on one disc, their span and the radius of the rotor shaft was studied. Theoretical studies have shown that the diameter of a rotary ripper depends on working depth, blade width and angle, and the number of blades mounted on one disc. It has been established that the amount of soil deformation under the influence of the blade depends on rotor radius, working depth, as well as slip and wear coefficients characterizing the operating mode of the rotary plasticizer. The diameter of the rotary ripper depends on working depth, blade width and angle of installation, as well as on the number of blades installed on one disc, the size of which was at least 290 mm.
