Popis: | The occasional association of adenoviruses with severe and fatal infections has been reported, 1-12 and most of the infections were related to adenovirus type 3, 7, or 21. Adenovirus type 35 is a recently recognized serotype that was recovered from a patient who had a renal transplant and who died of disseminated adenovirus infection. 13 Recently, we observed a severe adenovirus type 35 infection in a 2-year-old child. As far as we can determine, ours is the first report of a fatal infection caused by adenovirus type 35 in a child.
