| Popis: | Baculoviruses are insect-specific viruses with double-stranded DNA genomes. This article covers the nomenclature, morphology and genome organization of these viruses. The evolutionary origin is reviewed, along with the infection cycle, transmission pathways and host behavioral manipulation. Furthermore, the use of baculoviruses as expression vectors and as biological insecticides is discussed. |
