A LEARNING STRATEGY OF MULTICULTURAL ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR IMPROVING STUDENTS' HARMONY IN POSO, CENTRAL SULAWESI, INDONESIA

Popis: This study analyze multicultural Islamic religious education in post-conflict areas. This study aims to reveal the multicultural Islamic religious education strategy used in Poso Regency in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, to promote religious harmony. This study employs a qualitative approach and a multi-site design to examine two public schools with similar fundamental characteristics or is situated near one another. Data collection methods included interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings of this study indicate that both schools provide multicultural religious education both formally in the classroom and informally activities outside the classroom or society. Students actively participate in interfaith dialogue through charity, social-religious, and humanitarian activities. All students (Muslim and Christian students) collaborate without regard to differences in faith, worship rituals, and ethnic background. No majority and minority terms are used among them, and it becomes a core role in harmonious life in Poso. Regarding promoting peace, the learning mentioned earlier may help students from different religions at both schools, especially those who have already conflicted with each other in the past.
