Popis: Emphysematous cystitis is a rare disease caused by gas-forming bacterial and fungal pathogens. It complicates urinary tract infections, especially in diabetic patients. Because clinical symptoms are not specific, the diagnosis is often made incidentally on radiography. We report the case of a 34-year-old woman who presented with fever, frequency, urgency and gross hematuria. CT scan of the pelvis revealed emphysematous cystitis which resolved after antibiotic treatment and bladder drainage.
