In this chapter, we delve into three solutions to let smartphones detect global navigation satellite system (GNSS) spoofing attacks. The first, and most simple, foresees the analysis of the visible satellites and the corresponding navigation message, checking both its integrity and its correctness. The second approach makes use of the network connectivity of the smartphone, which provides alternative location information, in order to verify the consistency of the GNSS measurements. Finally, with the third approach we process the smartphone inertial measurements unit (IMU) data with a Kalman filter (KF) to derive a suitable spoofing detection mechanism. |
