Popis: A 67-YEAR-OLD WOMAN was found to have microhematuria by urinalysis during a routine physical examination. The patient had been in good health with no urologic complaints. Her past medical history was significant only for hypertension controlled by indapamide. She had undergone a hysterectomy many years ago. The patient was referred to radiology. An intravenous urogram (IVU) was performed and a left renal mass was suspected. No other abnormalities were found. A renal scan with glucoheptonate was performed following an 18-hour fast and showed normal renal architecture. It was concluded that the mass noted on IVU represented a hypertrophied column of Bertin. The renal scan also demonstrated biliary excretion of the radionuclide with visualization of the gall bladder and bowel (Fig 1). Following renography, the patient underwent cystoseopy. She was found to have a cystocele, but no other abnormalities were present. At this point, it was decided to follow up the patient in 6 months.
