Popis: Ypsolopha pseudoparallela Sohn et Ponomarenko, n. sp. [Figs 2, 8 and 11] Diagnosis: The new species is superficially similar to Y. parallela (Caradja) but differs from the latter by lacking two oblique fasciae on the forewing. The zone of dense granulation on the ductus bursae of the female is similar to those of Y. parallela and Y. tsugae, but is longer than in those two species. Description: Head Vertex with rough vestiture of orange, piliform scales; frons vestiture smooth, brownish white. Antenna filiform, 1 / 2 as long as forewing; scale brown dorsally, orange-white ventrally; flagellomeres dark brown on anterior 2 / 3, white on posterior 1 / 3. Labial palpus slightly upcurved, terminally acute, orange-white dorsally, brown ventrally; 3 rd segment 1.3x longer than 2 nd; the latter with relatively less dense scale-tufts. Thorax and abdomen Patagium, tegula, and mesonotum brownish orange, intermixed with grayish brown. Fore- and midleg with coxa to tibia orange-white ventrally, dark brown dorsally; tarsus dark brown, with orange-white ring on distal end of each segment. Hindleg silvery orange-white, tinged with grayish brown dorsally on tarsi; tibial tufts present ventrally, with dense, orange-white scales. Forewing length 8.8 10.1 mm (n = 5), moderately narrow, with constant width throughout, narrowly rounded apically; pale reddish brown, small dark brown dots scattered throughout; pattern of reddish orange scales present around the base of posterior margin; fringe dark grayish brown. Hindwing dark brown, paler to base; fringe dark gray. Abdomen dark grayish brown dorsally, orange white ventrally. Male genitalia (Fig. 8) Uncus rectangular, convex posteromedially; socius slender, as long as saccus, terminally acute; tegumen elongate, longer than wide, almost straight-sided; gnathos with semicircular medial plate. Valva elongate, narrowed to base, broadly rounded distally; entire dorsal margin and basal of ventral margin narrowly sclerotized. Vinculum subrectangular; saccus elongate, as long as anellus, slender; annellus minutely setose in distal half. Aedeagus slender, rather straight, slightly broader terminally; coecum 1 / 4 as long as the rest part of aedeagus; two cornuti rod-like, with a robust spine terminally. Female genitalia (Fig. 11) Papillae anales semiglobular, slightly protruding dorsoterminally, setose; 9 + 10 th segment forming telescopic ovipositor, 4 x longer than 8 th segment; apophysis posterioris thin, 4.5x longer than apophysis anterioris. Ostium bursae almost equal to antrum in width; antrum cylindrical, swollen medially, adjoining posteriorly with bowl-like, membranous part. Ductus bursae 2.5x longer than apophyses anterioris, tubular, membranous except anterior half densely granulated on one side; bulla seminalis as large as corpus bursae. Corpus bursae globular, slightly bulged near ductus bursae; signum band-like, scobinate, with two transverse ridges of similar size. Type: Holotype 3, Miomote, Niigata Pref., Japan, 26 X 1973 (R Sato), USNM. Paratypes 23, 1 , same data as holotype, [GSN: USNM- 96351 (3)]; 1 , same locality as holotype, 29 IX 1973 (R Sato), [GSN: USNM- 96352], USNM. FIGURES 1113. Female genitalia of Ypsolopha spp. 11, Y. pseudoparallela, paratype, Japan; 12. Y. contractella, Russia, 7 th abdominal segment removed; 13, Y. leuconotella, topotype of Y. hebeiensis, China.
