In this article, we discuss the methods of detecting and improving negative movement asymmetries in sportsmen during the processes of training and rehabilitation. Movement asymmetries may be measured and assessed using special exercises, measurements and gait analysis. We claim, that movement asymmetries should be treated individually, when each athlete will know his/her normal range of movement asymmetries. If movement asymmetries are out of this range, appropriate actions must be taken. We also claim, that during the process of assessment and improvement of movement asymmetries we should take into account genetic, physiological and psychological factors regarding the health of the athlete. |
