The Case Study (CS) method, of teaching some new theme or paradigm, by a case or a scenario analysis, on a real-life example is a common teaching or educational method. CS is used extensively in management, computer, or information and communication sciences as a way to show students reallife examples of practical use of some method, framework, or paradigm in real- life conditions within the context of a real-life situation. As a Digital Transformation (DT) is a contemporary and emerging paradigm that is being implemented, researched, and observed by many authors in almost every domain of human life it is important to have a lot of examples for students. For such phenomena, it is most important for students to recognize, analyze and conclude about its implementation to learn from reallife examples. This, path of finding real digital transformation examples, is pretty hard since lots of authors put into the same basket projects of any improvement, implementation of new technology, digitalization, and digitization and not real transformation. So, it is easy to find examples, but hard to filter, the buzzword or trendy examples that are not really digital transformation examples, and in many cases, not even real case studies, since the context and conclusions/results are not always presented. In that manner, it was necessary to find “real” case study examples of digital transformation for students to learn from, and on such a level that really considers all the elements, pillars, and definitions of digital transformation. In this paper, research results from, a literature review of case studies, hands-on examples, and papers presenting real case study examples of digital transformation in various domains are analyzed and presented. Case study examples that represent a digital transformation in several domains are identified, shortly described, presented, and referenced. |
