Popis:	BACKGROUND Tobacco smoking is one of its major predisposing factor of Tuberculosis (TB), which has proved to be a major health problem in developing countries. OBJECTIVES This study aims to assess the impact of smoking on Pulmonary TB (PTB) and its association with Extrapulmonary TB (EPTB). MATERIALS AND METHODS This study is a one year hospital-based observational study comprising of 132 patients who were diagnosed TB based on clinical features and diagnostic algorithm given in RNTCP guidelines and fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. History of smoking was taken as per predesigned questionnaire. Follow up for smear conversion at 2 months and spirometric evaluation at the end of treatment was done. Statistical analysis was done using GraphPad InStat for Windows 7.
