The laboratory testing of acute and convalescent serum specimens led to laboratory confirmation of acute Q fever as the etiology. This case represents a potential tickborne transmission ofCoxiella burnetiiand highlights the importance of considering Q fever as a possible diagnosis following tick exposures. |
