Popis: | A case of visceral leishmaniasis (Kala-azar) in a 60-year-old Nigerian female is presented. The clinical findings were fever, weight loss, lympadenopathy, hepatomegaly, and self-healing cutaneous ulcers. Laboratory findings included severe anaemia, lymphocytosis and amastigotes in the blood smear. The patient died before she could be commenced on the pentavalent antimonial specific for the disease.
