The aim of the study was to evaluate the features of hematological and biochemical parameters in persons infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and clinical manifestations of a systemic inflammatory response in patients complicated by pneumonia. The object of the study was archival materials and electronic medical data of the Yeni Clinic in Baku City, which are mainly reserved for patients with COVID-19. Patients with positive and suspicious RT-PCR results were subjected to the study. In the course of the work, a complete blood count, biochemical blood parameters, interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), ferritin and D-dimer were analyzed. This study was retrospective, using electronic medical records and case histories of 251 patients with positive CT scans for pneumonia. Laboratory results of all patients were monitored both at admission and at discharge. The results of the studies showed that these indicators are largely related to the severity of the disease. |
