Popis: | The urine of a patient suffering from dermatological purpura was examined for dipeptides by combined gas chromatography—mass spectrometry. Several dipeptides were identified and all were of the general formula, R proline, where R is one of the amino acids, glycine, alanine, leucine, isoleucine, valine, phenylalanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid. The prevalence of proline and the percentage distributions of the other amino acids, R, strongly suggested a collagen abnormality. |
