Popis: | Schwannomas are benign tumours arising from Schwann cells, nd occur most commonly in nerve sheaths of the intradural xtramedullary region. Most schwannomas are solid or heterogeeous solid tumours, but can rarely undergo cystic degeneration, anthomatous change or haemorrhage [1]. Giant spinal schwanomas by definition extend over three or more vertebral levels 2]. Giant solitary cystic schwannomas are extremely rare and beter described in the lumbar region. To the best of our knowledge here are only two previous reported cases of a giant solitary cystic chwannoma of the cervical region [3,4]. Here we describe another resentation of this unique pathology. |
