Popis: | Hysteroscopy and hysteroscopic myomectomy in general have low complication rates. Two patients underwent hysteroscopic myomectomy for prolapsing submucous myomas after UAE. The onset of prolapsing myoma occurred at varying times between completion of UAE and myomectomy, resulting in bacteremia for both patients. In Case 1, the patient recovered with intravenous antibiotic treatment. However, the patient in Case 2 had status improvement after undergoing an abdominal myomectomy, explorative laparotomy for removal of a necrotic myoma. Our two patient cases serve as a caution to clinicians regarding the rare incidence of septicemia occurring in patients undergoing hysteroscopic myomectomy with prior UAE treatment for prolapsing myomas. |
