| Popis: | In this chapter we examine how Italy has stimulated EU action in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and how it has benefited from the NextGenerationEU plan as one of the countries most affected by the pandemic. We show how the adoption of the national Recovery and Resilience Plan has impacted the still troubled political landscape, but also how the Italian institutions have managed to allocate funding efficiently by providing, among other things, unprecedented financial and structural support for social and labour market policies. We also highlight the uncertainty caused by the forthcoming elections.
