Popis: | Summary Scanning electron microscopic and biochemical studies of native and the various fractions of reconstituted chromatin of Novikoff hepatoma ascites cells demonstrated structural differences between the native and reconstituted chromatins. No significant differences were detected between the transcriptional activity of native or reconstituted chromatin. However, the morphology of these two fractions differed with respect to the abundance of exposed DNA filaments. “Naked” DNA fibers were abundant in DNA-histone complexes, these complexes were transcriptionally inactive. |
