1) Certain milestones on the route of surgical progress in the modern treatment of carcinoma of the esophagus have been enumerated. 2) The techniques of various operative procedures employed in the surgical attack upon this problem have been reviewed briefly. 3) A strong plea has been made that we direct all our efforts toward achieving early diagnosis of carcinoma of the esophagus in order that early treatment may follow. |
