Popis: | The metabolism of androstenedione in vitro by the 700g fraction of Ariolimax californicus ovotestis was investigated in the presence and absence of the optic tentacle 700g fraction. The formation of 3α-androstandiol was severely inhibited, whereas that of 3β-androstandiol was relatively unaffected. The inhibition probably resulted from extensive metabolism of both precursor androstenedione and final product, 3α-androstandiol to highly polar products by optic tentacle enzyme systems. |
