EXPEDITIONS OF THE PEREYASLAV-KHMELNYTSKY STATE HISTORIC MUSEUM IN SUMY, KHARKIV, DNIPROPETRIVSK REGIONS IN THE 60–80s OF THE XX CENT.: PURPOSE, SUBJECT, RESULTS

Popis: The article objective is to cover the circumstances of organizing and conducting ethnographic expeditions of the Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky State Historic Museum (since 1979 – Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky State Historic and Cultural Reserve) to the villages of Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrivsk regions in the 60–80s of the XX cent. The scientific novelty is that for the first time the museum expeditions to mentioned area are studied and thoroughly described chronologically. To address this issue, the order books, accounting & fund documentation of the National Historic and Ethnographic Reserve “Pereyaslav” are used. The research methodology is chosen in accordance with its objective. The methods of source study analysis contributed to systematization of primary information, while using systematic method promoted a comprehensive study of history of ethnographic expeditions in Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrivsk regions. Attention is paid to their background; the subject, participants and results are also analysed. It is noted the expeditions principal task was to identify showplaces of folk architecture for the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Middle Dnieper, as well as to collect items of museum importance for ethnographic collections acquisition. The expeditions resulted in museification of three monuments: the windmill from Krysyne village of Bohodukhiv district of Kharkiv Region, the windmill from Dovzhyk village of Lypova Dolyna district of Sumy Region, and the watermill from Hamaliivka village of Shostka district of Sumy Region. The conclusion suggests high efficiency of the museum expedition activity in this sphere.
