Popis: | Anterior sacral meningoceles (ASM) in Marfan syndrome are rare. They may cause constipation, urinary frequency, dysmenorrhea, and low back pain or numbness. This report describes bilateral ASM at the level of S1, S2 and S3 in a woman with Marfan syndrome who was admitted to the gynaecology department for evaluation of left lower abdominal pain. The magnetic resonance appearance of the meningoceles is discussed and compared with findings from transvaginal ultrasound and CT. As MRI offers excellent delineation of spinal and pelvic structures, it is the most useful technique available in establishing the diagnosis and planning the treatment of ASM. |
