Popis: | The biological effects of chromium and cobalt complexes with a variety of bi- and tetradentate ligands on which the donor atoms are all nitrogen were investigated. The other co-ordination positions are occupied by either halogen atoms or water molecules. Graded concentrations of the appropriate complex were inoculated with an overnight culture of Escherichia coli and incubated at 37/sup 0/C for 24 hours. The organisms were then examined microscopically for morphological variations. The minimum inhibitory concentration values of a series of Cr and Co complexes were determined. The cis-complexes were all active. |
