Popis: The article concerns the problems of the sense of life and self-esteem in people in their late adulthood. The study was aimed at capturing the relationship between the sense of the meaning of life in people of late adulthood and their self- esteem. We then analyzed the problem of whether the variable of the place of residence of the respondents (private home vs home with social assistance is a differentiating factor in their sense of the meaning of life and their level of self- esteem. In order to answer the questions surveyed using: Questionnaire about attitudes to life and the Rosenberg Self-Assessment Scale. The participants in this study group of 100 people in late adulthood, were divided into two groups of 50 people. In the first group were residents of private homes, in the other group, nursing home residents in Betania in Lublin. Studies have shown a significant relationship between the level of sense of life and the place of residence. It has been shown also that people living in a nursing home have a higher level of acceptance of death than those living in private houses.
