(B) Dot plot shows the mRNA expression of BMI1 in Caucasian vs. African American patients as analyzed by mining of GEO data from NCBI. (C) Quantitative estimation of BMI1 inhibitor and Docetaxel combination induced apoptosis in African American and Caucasian CaP models as assessed by flow cytometry. Cells were treated with BMI1 inhibitor (1.0 �M) and docetaxel (10 .0 �M) or combination therapy labeled with Annexin-V and PI. Live cells were gated in the forward scatter (FSC)/side scatter (SSC) plot to exclude small debris. Cells staining positive for Annexin V-FITC and negative for PI were considered to have undergone apoptosis. The images shown here are representative of three independent experiments with similar results.
